| house back | | all our visitors ave now gone back to the UK loved having them here but it was hard work having visitors here for such a long time we have basicly had visitors in our house since mid september, so now have the house to myself which is very nice unfrotunatly DH hasnt had chance to enjoy it he has been away on buisness since but fingers crossed back tonight
am frustrated as have a chest and sinus infection, shock horror, on antibiotics again not been n them for a while but begining to think they should just keep me on them carnt seem to go a few weeks without 1 infection or another am so fed up with it all.
have emptyed the fridge and freezer am shocked by the amount of food we accumalated a whole black bin bag full. | | differnece between a cold and flu | | the weather changed and it gone cooler well cool for me temps around 70's during the day od course i get a cold and go into work and there concerned have no temp just sneezing runny nose and of course a cough try to tell them its allergys didnt work anyway didnt sleep with coughing and sneezing got a call dont come in just in case its the flu told them no temp its just a cold then they wanted me to go down and get swabed so told them i would stay off as its my last night anyway so basicly crawled back in bed and have slept since off course still have the cold my DH said theres no difference between a cold and flu and he agreed with work
The other thing with work is they have been pestering me about being trained up to be charge and on thursday both managers got me in the office and said they had poled staff and everyone including the Drs wanted me to be charge thats all very nice but dont want to be charge have used the excuse i am a traveler but the excuse no longer works they expalined they will compensate me finacialy etc and that it would look very good on my resume again they told me dont say no outright have a think about it of course came out everyone was like congratulations then i tild them i have not agreed yet, At the moment i lovee the job i am doing bedside nursing no hassle etc i just dont want to do it i suppose. | | red face | | Mum and dad returned to England on thursday it was lovely having them visit but it was also very nice when they went home they are and always have been some what hard work also my BF and her DH are visiting so can relax and have a laugh with them my BF is very much more relaxed and shares my interests of shoping and food of course they have never been to the US before and they are in complete awe of what they are seeing, yesterday took them to the vets parade in our community they both loved it and commentated how even the kids join in and sad vets dont get the same recognition in the UK, in the morning i saw the weather forecast and knew it was gonna be hot so contary to my normal practice i put sun cream on my face arms and chest well to say i caught thee sun was an understatement i was bright red last evening with 2 white circles were my glasses were  everyone couldnt stop laughing of course i posted the piccys on facebook so my DD in UK could see them and she has already been on the phone laughing asking me is it any better and i was pleased to report it was | | visitors | | well my friends arrived and mum and dad are still here so have been busy out around AZ had some real laughs my mum gets a lot of words mixed up to the amusment of others she always has done its not an age thing so we were all out at a crafts fair and one stall had fresh roasted flavoured nuts which we were trying my mum said these semen flavored nuts are good my friend and i nearly choked on ours she quickly corrected herself and said cinamen flavor
sunday we all went to the grand canyon what a long but fantastic day my friends husband was moved to tears it has always been his dream to see the GC and my mum and dad were awstruck by it as i was again. Trying to have a quiet day today just enjoying the sun and chillin with my F & F all enjoying the company.
Harley the pup was ill last week ended up at the vet he had a bug wasnt impressed that he as been ill since he came out of the doggy hotel and he goes no were else were he could have caught it of course he always stresses in there but DH and me were very annoyed that he got so ill | | 2 more night | | spent 2 nights in vegas over the weekend didnt care much for the hotel but its the best we could get at the time but we saw so much more mum and dad were walked silly for 2 people who are supposed to be used to walking they kept commenting on how great the distances were to walk DH is away on buisness again hopefuly flying back before my friend and her husband arrive thurday i am working till thursday am then of for nearly 2 weeks vacations time bedies being off sick havnt actualy taken vacation time so it will be nice to et some real time of as i say, we will also have a house full of F & F so will need a vacation after | | visitors | | | have been spending my days off with mum and dad and DH have been out for a few dinner and enjoyed a BBQ with them and our neighbours last night nice to relax and enjoy company especialy as the temps hit 100 + yesterday my kinda temps. Decided to take mum and dad to Vegas nxt week its always been there dream to visit there as well as the grand canyon which were doing when my other friends arrive on the 29th i have 6 more nights to work over 2 weeks then have vacation time booked carnt wait. mum is cooking her speciality steak and onions but im off to work soon sure ill be able to pinch some before i leave | | mum and dad have arrived | | well the nxt round of visitiers are here from the UK my mum and dad they are both as dizzy as ever and have had us in fits of laughter since friday, they have already fell in love with AZ as everyone does and they love my house my daft mum has been swimming in my pool 2 day on the run i keep telling her she will catch her deth but apparently im the thin blooded one we took them to a cowboy styled breakfast yesterday and they loved it besdie my mum embarassing the hell out of me by singing with 1 of the cowboys  but thats my mum always the clown.
Its back to normality this am DH flew out to Boston on buisness DD went to work and i am back in bed as start my 3 nights tonight so are letting them fend for themselves they have decided to have a leisurly breakfast and shower then have a walk to walmart and buy dinner i have equipt them with cell phones coz i have told them 100 times its only 5 min round the corner but my dad is useless with directions i can just see them wandering around the desert i keep telling them to use my car but my mum and dad are big walkers they dont beleive in all this driving here there and everywere but still dont get the concept of no public transport and the large distances to travel but am sure in a few days they will figure it out | | Paranoia or not!!!! | | well got through the last night very tired and ended up with an admit at 0620 i dont know about anyone else but it annoys the hell out of me especialy when i hear they have been in the other dept all night, 1 off my influenza pts went home and the room was cleaned but when i went in there were portable O2 tanks and drip stands in there i couldnt beleive my eyes  the pt went home before my shift started and the room was closed off when i arrived so i was horrified when i saw the door was open and all the equipment still in there after it was supposed to have been cleaned properly, the other thing i didnt get was the room post clean is not to be used for 1 hour  were and who came up with that i know im paranoid but you carnt disinfect and sterilize every seface and its reported the H1N1 virus can live on a surface for upto 24hrs maybe its just my paranoia talking but im glad i took so many precautions as both my pts were confirmed as H1N1 pts what amazed me is i saw visitors still going into the rooms ungowned, unmasked and ungloved despite keep informing them and telling them to gown up thank heavens for lysol and purell | | DD on her way back to UK | | carnt beleive it DD has been here for 2 weeks and is flying back to the UK in 3 hrs up early at the end of 3 ngihts so gonna be tired later but after this shift finished till wednesday then mum and dad arrive so having a busy time.
We had a fantastic time in vegas spent a fortune but loved every second the hotel was out of this world very luxurous could not fault anything about the trip we are already planing our nxt trip and carnt wait.
Returned to work on thursday and got given 2 pts in who had infuenza type A so have been gowned and masked for the last 2 nights as always am so paranoid about getting infections several staff memebers are already off sick with the flu the rules are if you have flu like symtoms and a temp over 100 you are off mandatory sick for 7 days so uses pleurel like its going out of fashion loose the uniform before the bedroom door and immediatly washing everything even my shoes are alcohol wiped then sprayed with lysol am determined not be of sick have been doing really well since the kidney infection in July have not been of sick | | finished for 8 nights | | | carnt beleive it of for 8 nights now and heading to Vegas on sunday for a few days we have never had a vacation since arriving in AZ been of work sick for a lot of time but never actualy had 8 off in a row just to shop eat and of course travel outside AZ 1 huge downer is DH had a bad chest and cold and was coughing and splutering everywere then eldest DD BF got it and yesterday youngest DD was sent home from work with sore throat and cold and im lysoling and bleaching everywere they go in order not to get a bad chest or cold i look like some crazy person but am paranoid about getting sick especialy for Vegas so me and eldest DH are the healthiest of the bunch at the moment lets hope it stays that way |
