Functions under the direction of the Department Manager and Clinical Coordinator and is responsible for providing patient care with an understanding and awareness of age specific needs. Addresses the biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and educational needs of the patient and family and is responsible for delivering patient care in complex situations. Coordinates activities and staff development within his/her practice setting and also assumes responsibility for professional growth and self-development. Able to perform core job functions as identified in the skills checklist with minimal supervision and must be able to deal professionally in stressful situations. Some charge nurse duties may be required.

This center will function only during weekdays and this position requires no weekend nor call coverage.

Required Minimum Education:

Nursing education from an accredited school of nursing; licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Georgia; national certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred.

Required Minimum Experience:

The OR Nurse has sufficient experience to function independently in multiple perioperative specialties; A minimum of two (2) years of nursing practice in operating room preferred

Required Minimum Skills:
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of new trends and techniques in nursing. Ability to multi-task using critical thinking skills. The nurse holds CPR certification and participates in annual safety and infection control programs. Emergency call coverage is required. Basic keyboarding skills are required. Must be able to effectively communicate and understand verbal and written English language. Must be able to communicate effectively in a courteous, professional and tactful manner.
