Wanna be nurse

  1. Hi there, I'm new to this site and the world of nursing. I'm 38 and in the process of attempting to get into a nursing program here in Knoxville Tn. Our facility is closing and I had wanted to change careers before and this has pushed me to do so. I'm taking A&P 1 and Microbiology this semester and I'm just a bit scared. Any suggestion on how to study would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello!
I am currently taking A&P.. and will be starting Microbiology next week!
I think A&P is tollerable and is something anyone can get through if you apply yourself enough. When it comes to learning the different parts of the body (skeletal, muscular, etc.), the best thing you can do is keep looking at the material & quizzing youself over & over. I'm about to go buy flash cards (Barnes & Noble). There are also anatomy-themed coloring books you can purchuse. Those tend to help people out as well. The Physiology part of the class can be alittle complex, especially if this is your first biology class. But just take good notes in class & set aside some good study time EVERY DAY.

    Good luck!

For A&P and Micro...I used steno pads to flip easily thru my notes and used flashcards (my own made out of index cards).

    My best to you.

    Welcome!
