Totally new...

  1. Hello everyone,

I am a new LPN graduate since December. I have just moved to Seattle from the islands. It's been two months and I have not gotten any job offers. I am still waiting on my verification forms from back home where I passed my NCLEX, as well as transcripts. But I've been posting online for a nursing job.

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help or give any suggestions as to where I should start my nursing career. I do not have a 1 year experience, just left home after college there, and I have been hoping for any opening at a hospital or clinic or nursing homes...so that I could start utilizing what I learned both in class and clinical practicum. I have had some healthcare agencies call me, but after I tell them that I just graduated and still waiting to be licensed/endorsed by the Nursing Commission of Washington State...they then say to give them a call once I have built much experience or skills...or other hospitals would send an e-mail saying that the position is closed or taken and that they would keep my resume on file. The weird thing about the hospitals that respond back after applying like two days before is that when I check the ads the job is still opened.

Sometimes I get hopeless. There is a nursing shortage and yet I feel as though the new graduates are not given much opportunity to advance further in the healthcare. I don't know what else to do so far. I have applied as much as I can on-line and mail, but...I don't know. I don't want to give up so easily...but, I was hoping that some nurses out there would be willing to give some heads up to this new and desperate new LPN graduate.
