  1. Hi,

I am a senior in high school and am currently looking into colleges that offer BSN degrees. I would prefer a school that accepts admission into their program from the freshman year rather than schools that have you apply junior year. The only school of nursing I have found so far that operates this way is University of Delaware. Can anyone make suggestions as to where else I should look?

    Thank you!

Good luck on your journey into the field of nursing. Very few schools allow direct entry into BSN programs without having first completed the required prerequisite classes in science, math, English, psychology, and other subjects. Nursing programs are very competetive regarding the admission process, so the prerequisite classes are used as an effective 'weed-out' mechanism.

The problem with direct entry is there are more students applying for such few slots. So they wait and have prereq requirements and grade requirements, many taking only students who have made 4.0 on their pre-reqs. It's tough.

    Good luck to you!
