Pre-Nurse New to Forum

  1. Hi, my name is Joe. I have recently decided to become a nurse after working the mental health field for the past 14 years. I have a Masters in Rehab Counseling and currently work in an addiction treatment program as a Therapist.

I have realized through many years of working in psychiatric hospitals that I am in need of a career change. Although I have enjoyed working in mental health I am looking forward to a new path. From what I have seen and heard so far from my nurse friends, nursing also seems to be much more lucrative than counseling could ever offer. I look forward to a new pursuit. I haven't been this excited about my profession in a long time.
I am hoping allnurses.com can help answer my numerous questions I have about the field.
    Thanks. joe
