Nurse Entrance Test.....help?

  1. Hello! I'm in the process of applying to Nursing School and will have to take the Nurse Entrance Test. Is there anyone who has taken the test and can give me some advice on what to study? I have read mixed reviews online. Thus far, I'm confused as to the level of math on the test and whether or not it includes a science section.
    Hope you can help!

    Thanks for a quick reply!

In answer... it's the NET written by ERI, Inc. I'm taking the test for the UNiversity of Alaska Anchorage and they don't require a minimum grade for admission. Rather, they use your score as part of their ranking system for admission. Ex: a 80% on the NET gives you 8 points.

I searched around this site a bit more and found some useful info. It seems I should only be concerned about reading comprehension, verbal skills and math (through basic algebra). Am I right?

Here is a link to a recent NET thread, hope it helps. I took the NLN and is a bit different than yours. http://allnurses.com/forums/f198/net...ng-125786.html

I will also have to take this exam. From what I have learned it consists of- I believe- 7 parts, two of which count toward your admission ( reading and math through algebra). From what I have found in most places I have looked, a 50 in each one is passing. Beyond that, I haven't found out much else, except that they do offer study guides through school libraries and online.

Know your decimals. And A little algebra wouldn't hurt. Your fractional values are a plus and please know how to calculate all of the above ! Get plenty of rest and eat a good meal just before test time and you should do well. Good Luck

    Welcome to this site!

You should do decently on the math portion of the NET if you are able to do math at about a seventh grade level.
