I just joined the forum today so I wanted to introduce myself. I'm 28yrs old and starting on a new career path. I have been working in social services first with abused children in group homes and now with adults who have HIV/AIDS.
I'll be starting nursing school
this spring and I'm really excited about this new chapter in my life. I'm sure I'll have many questions for the seasoned men and women on the forum as I go along. I'm just happy to have found this place.
I originally started school as a pre-med major but switched to psychology after getting pregnant with my daughter. I eventually graduated with a BA in Psych but ever since the idea of the career that got away had really been gnawing at me. Through the organization I work for I met a wonderful NP and learned about the work she does and the schooling required. So after talking it over with my husband and finding a school in our area that worked for me I decided it was time to live my dream. I'll start off with getting my BSN then will go on to pursue my masters to become a NP.
