  1. Hi Everyone,
I am currently a Medical Assistant wanting to go into the nursing field. I am taking classes at a California Community College in order to get into the nursing program they offer but I may be moving to Oregon sometime in the very near future. I do have my A.S degree in Medical Assisting and have about 3yrs experience in the field. I am actually planning on moving to Eugene or Springfield area and was curious how the schools are there and if their schools are similar to the ones here in California, credit wise and transfer wise. I am looking at Lane Community College which seems to be pretty good. I am pretty much done with all the pre-requests except for Anatomy/Physiology and Biology because the classes here are crazy full. I got my degree from a private college so when I transfered to the community college the classes didn't transfer and I had to basically start all over again. And I really don't wish to have to go through that again. I was also wondering how far Corvallas was from Eugene/Springfield? If I were to live in Eugene/Springfield and go to school/work in Corvallas would that be to far to drive? I guess thats all I can think of at the moment. Thanks

Did you call them up and try to find out!!
Because different colleges have different systems...not to mention that now you are crossing the state line.
I am sure Calif schools are more competitive than the ones up there in Oregon.
    Goood Luck!

    Good luck.

I would make a post in the state forum that corresponds to the state you're enquiring about to hone in on people in that area. This forum is here is primarily for introductions.

    Welcome!

I highly recommend Lane Community College's nursing program. I will be graduating this June and sitting for the RN boards. The clinical component is excellent and I have had some of the best instructors I could have asked for. I feel truly blessed. Entry into the program is very competitive and they are changing to a 3-year BSN program via OHSU starting Fall 2007. PM me with any questions.

Thank you very much for the reply'. Yea I will re-post the question in the state section, thanks. Kinda new to this site haven't got the hang of it yet. I know it can't be as competitive as it is in California, well I wouldn't think since here they actually have a lotto for the nursing program. (at least at the school I am currently attending). Well anywayz thanks for the reply's everyone.
