  1. Hi I'm new here and have orientation for nursing school on monday.I have 3 kids that are all in college. I'm a medical Assistant now and decided after my husband passed away from cancer 22 months ago that i was going to become a nurse i started my pre reqs 6 months after he passed away. I have only been a medical assistant for about a year and a half. After seeing what the nurses had done for my husband and my family through an awful time in our lives i decided that I wanted to give back to the profession that was so wonderful to us.Kind of sappy I know but They were so wonderful to us I hope someday to be the same to someone who is going through the same thing. Wish me luck this is going to be so hard. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
