New to site and Need Help Returning to the Nrsg field

  1. Hi all. I am need of your help. I graduated with a BSN 7 yrs ago. After graduation, I accepted a mgmt position (unrelated to nursing) in corporate america. My dept is closing soon. Naturally, I want to pursue nursing now. I believe I need a refresher course. I could only find 1 refresher course in my area and it started in Sept and will not be offered again until next Sept. My friends who have been in various fields of nursing since graduation claim that the standard orientation to the unit is sufficient. Does anyone agree with this? Does anyone know of a rn refresher course in the Cincinnati or Dayton, Ohio area? Please help.

p.s. My license are still active. I don't really have a specialty preference. Although, I had considered psych nursing.

i gather you have kept your license current? imho, being out of nursing for 7 years and never worked a day as a nurse, you indeed need a refresher cours. just imho.
