Hi, I'm going to be starting my first semester of an ADN program in January. I've been lurking on all.nurses for a couple of weeks and am worried about all the posts about poor working conditions, nurses leaving the profession, etc. I've waited for twenty years to go to nursing school so my kids were older....my youngest just turned 13. Eventually, I want to be a CNM. I worked with a CNM years ago and she delivered several of my children. I really think I can be an asset not only to people in their childbearing years but in other areas also while I work toward that goal. Does anyone have any advice or positive stories they can share with me? Thanks

Remember this forum is a place for nurses to gather and share their frustrations and concerns, as well as positive things. But it is skewed to the negative, so take it with a grain of salt.
Good luck to you.

Thanks for saying hello! Welcome aboard. There are plenty of us here who get a great deal of satisfaction from our jobs, but as Tweety said, it's tempting to reserve our posts for times when we need to vent. We look forward to having you.
