  1. Hi everyone,
Happy to join this wonderful site. I've viewed this site countless times for information and answers to questions and finally decided to join.

I've been an RN for about 12 years with background in med-surg, mental health, corrections, critical care and emergency room. I also just retired from the military reserves where I was a critical care flight nurse with a couple of tours to Afghanistan. My latest endeavor is in acute dialysis (that's hospital based vs. clinic for those unfamiliar with dialysis). Typical growing pains associated with a new specialty (I've only been at it for three months) but I'll save those for the renal forums.

Again, so happy to finally join. I can say with 100% certainty that I have always found what I needed when viewing this site. The wealth of knowledge and experience (and the generally supportive nature of nurses and other healthcare providers) is a treasure to be used and shared.

    Thanks!

welcome to you, and thanks for registering as a new member!

in our forums, you will find all the nursing news, support and direction that you will need as a new or seasoned nurse in the field. we have about 150 forums in total.

our list of different forums is located here: http://allnurses.com/forums/

here are some "basics" to help you out as a new member:

have a topic to discuss or question to ask? go the the list of forums, pick the forum that best matches, and post in there (pg 13 language always). you will get feedback. so, check back often.

please protect your anonymity at all times, no real names or email addresses or clearly-identifying information on the board!

refer to the terms of service (tos) often if you have questions, or ask a moderator/administrator prn for help, if in doubt!

no soliciting, advertising, or research on the boards, unless approved by site administrator first!

allnurses.com is not a medical advice board; we are a board of nurses/nurses-to-be or aspiring nurses exchanging ideas/thoughts. if you have question of medical nature, please seek the advice of a qualified medical professional, preferably your own health care provider!

if you come across a post that is rude, attacking or otherwise violates the terms of service, please report it to a moderator by clicking on the red triangle at the bottom left of the post. do not respond "in kind" or take the matter into your hands; this only will escalate the problem.

it's ok to have a difference of opinion and express it, as long as it's respectfully-stated!

well, that should get you started. and, we hope you enjoy allnurses.com and participate often. we are a community of nurses (and future nurses) who enjoy being at the service of each other!

    your supermoderators,

    smilingblueyes & thunderwolf
