New Member!

  1. Just wanted to say hi. I am new here and to nursing as well. I will graduate in May. I will begin working in the ED in June and am really looking forward to putting all this knowledge to work - and learning more. I live in NC, am married, have three daughters - 15,13 and 10 who will turn 16,14 and 11 before I graduate in May. My hubby is a IT project manager.

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Hi, I am in my second semester of nursing school and am interested in the ER possibility when I graduate, have you had any special training in that. Just wandering because I live in NC also, and in my area you have to have like 2-5 years of ER experience before they will hire you. How did you go about finding an ER that hires graduates?

Well, I live in the piedmont-triad area. There is a level 2 trauma center in G'boro that hires new grads - and I think Forsyth in Winston-Salem. Baptist hospital is a level 1 and they do require experience. Thats where I'd eventually like to end up.

    Good luck in Nursing school!
