  1. Hello everyone, just wanted to say I have enjoyed reading your posts and decided to join in. I am a 1st year ADN student and mommy of a 2 year old. I don't get to visit the site often, due to the obvious, but when I do, I enjoy it. Any advice for a 1st year student?

Take it ONE DAY AT A TIME...ONE HOUR AT A TIME....ONE MINUTE AT A TIME. My son was your child's age when I started school. It was TOUGH, esp w/my military husband deployed in my 4th semester...but I managed, and even with a 4.0. If I can do it, so can you! Just hang in there. BE sure to check out the nursing student boards for "connecting" with others just like you.

You are exactly right, that is the only way to get through nursing school, at least that's how I am getting through it. One day, one hour, one minute at a time. I missed my first day of school today. My son has come down with the flu, so we spent the morning at the doctors. They are really strict on missing any days, I guess they are like that at all schools. Thanks for the support
