New grad terrified of the boards!

  1. OK--here goes! I recently graduated (March 19, 2004) and will be taking the NCLEX 5/11/04 and am scared to death!! I've gone for the Kaplan review and did pretty well on the tests they give--my question is: exactly how accurate are the results? I did extremely well and was told that I would pass first time around. Why do I have such doubts? :uhoh21: I hope that this is a normal feeling! The Director of Nursing at my college is really pushing us to pass and making it seem like if we fail the first time, we will NEVER pass it when we repeat it! There is just way too much stress involved in this!!

    Think positive, Renee!!!

I have many friends who needed the second exam. I think it was just a matter of getting over the nerves from the first time, because all of them passed second time around.

Let us know how boards go, and keep the faith!!

    You have my prayers!

You should do just fine, I am a graduate of a nursing program in Michigan, too.
Just remember to take the 24 hours off before the test and just do something for you. Go out to lunch, see a movie, have a manicure, and just think that this may be the last time as a G.N., for within a few days you will be able to put R.N. after your name.

Good luck and let us know how you do...................
