lost nurse

  1. I am in a nightmare with my license as an RN!! I moved to MI in May of this year and left all of my legal papers showing my nursing degree at my now ex-husbands home since i had to flee for my life. He claims he has destroyed everything. I havent even began to work yet as a nurse since i just graduated in 2004. NO ONE has my paperwork. The schools cant provide documentation or transcripts stating they dont even know who i am!!!!! I have called Milwaukee WI (where I took boards) and yet again no record of my license!! I dont know what else to do!! Everywhere I call they seem to have never heard of me!! Now In MI-- I cant get a job anywhere since i have no proof of even taking one single class let alone being an RN!! I worked so hard to get my degree and have no idea how this has happenend to me. I have never heard of this happening to anyone so I was wondering for you more seasonend nurses if you would have any idea of what i can do to prove that I am a nurse. I have nothing-- no reciepts of payment nothing!!! Im so scared that all of my hard work was for nothing. I will take anyones help if you have any suggestions for me.
    thanks-- lost nurse

This may involve an in-person visit to your home state. You may have to beat down the doors of your school (where there may be a professor who remembers you so recently and can help) and the state nursing board. Is it possible you are listed under a different name? If you had a license issued in your name, can you look it up online? Were you ever in physical possession of your license or did the emergency move co-incide with boards?

Wait, how can a school have no transcripts for a student? No way...... What about the documentation of her schooling she had to provide to take the NCLEX? this has to be on record at the school. I dont think you can take NCLEX with a misspelling or wrong name on the paper work, something is up here.

Welcome! Sounds like an odd situation to me. Someone has to know you or have paperwork on you somewhere! How could there be no record of you at your school or the SBON?
