My name is Roxanne and I did not get my RN until I was 46, so have been an RN for almost 2 years in a tri-state area hospital. I worked out my sign-on bonus at my first job and got out quick because of the horrendous understaffing issues (8-10 patient workload with no nursing assistants on 11-7 shift). As a new grad, I was scared to death that I would lose my license that I barely even had! I have since gone to the unionized hospital in our area and the staffing is much better.
