Just like in AA- Hi my name is karen, im a nursing student!!

  1. Hi, I'm Karen. I'm just a freshman getting classes to apply for a nursing program to begin Fall of 05, so I have a ways to go. I'm 20, but I feel I have the life experience and awful credit history of some 30 year olds! Took two years off after high school to work and find my way... and followed it to the prenursing classes I'm taking now! My biggest pet peeve is people my age, I'm trying very very hard to get over it. Honestly I am. Also, I can't take advice because I don't think most people are in the position to give it, but I'm working on that attitude too. Honestly, I'm down to earth and probably one of the most supportive people you'll know!! Message me sometime!!

First year student at Blinn Jr College in Bryan, TX. Thinking about TWU in Houston for my BSN.

Hey Karen! You sound alot like me!! I am 24 now, but started the whole road thru nursing school when i was 20. Grew up pretty fast and understand where you are coming from in regards to people your own age being a pet peeve I will never forget the time some jerk in college heard that I was only 20 and said "you wouldn't know...you are only 20 and probably still living at home with mommy and daddy". WRONG. Moved out when I was 18, worked 2 jobs, bought my own 1st and 2nd car, paid my own way thru school, got married and have been very independent ever since. People tend to forget that age is just a number and maturity is not always related to your actual age. Good luck to you. Welcome!! -Tweetiepie

you sound a lot like me, as well. I never really got along with people my own age. Don't know why. But I can completely relate.

Welcome to allnurses, and look forward to seeing you around!
