Is 48 too late for a comeback?

  1. Hi All.
looking for a little help. been out of nursing for 15 years to raise my four kids. Have my BS and great experience from Brigham and women's and UC Med Center in San Francisco. Here in Ca I need to retake the NCLEX. Is it worth all the hassle? Will anyone hire me when I get my license. Does anyone hire you while you are working toward it like they did when we were new grads? I'd appreciate your honest input. Thanx!!!

You'll never know unless you try. My feeling is that it won't be too late at all. Good luck!

New grads are more and more our age, so, no, it certainly isn't too late!

Check out Mosby's NCLEX RN "CAT," probably the most reasonable and comprehensive review, and easy to use since you don't have to go anywhere except to your computer.

As for whether someone will hire you, check with the hospitals where you might be interested in working. I'll bet at the least they can tell you what they'd like you to do so you can work there.

    Good luck, and welcome back!
