I decided to join this this discussion in hopes that i will get advice on what to expect and possibly some guidance when I need it.I have a 9 year old and a 4 month old baby so it will be very challenging for me. It would be great to hear some success stories from other mothers. Thanx

    Hi Lori:

Welcome to allnurses. I am a recent graduate. Are you entering a ADN or a BSN program? Here's my advice........ Firstly, make sure you join a study group. It is very important that you do this. Don't think you'll be able to study by yourself. That's a NO, NO. Secondly, since you have 2 small children make sure you have someone that will help you out in that department. These are going to be 2? or 4? of the most challenging years of your life. Make sure you don't lose your WILL POWER.

    Good Luck!

My son was 6 months old when I started, and I had my daughter a year before I graduated with my BSN. It was challenging, but very much worth it. My advice would be to join a study group, and establish from the beginning a study schedule and stick to it. You'll do great! Congratulations!

Hi Lori and welcome! In the student forum there are lots of threads about being a mom and going to school. I am a mom of three little ones...5, 3 and 9 months and I know it's going to be hard, but I am going to make it through....many others have done it before me and WE ALL WILL TOO!
