in the brink...

  1. hi to all of you...
you may find funny that i a here, though i am not a nurse. i am in fact a teacher. i signed up here to find some enlightenment about my predicament. i am only 26 years old, married with one son. i am thinking about shiftting to being a nurse. i just don't kow if it's possible. i have always wanted to be in the field of medicine, but my i thought my parents couls not supportt me through that so pursued teaching instead. now that i have been teaching for 5 years. that ambition still haunts me.i know it will be harder to be a doctor so i think being a nurse is the closest i can get to that ambition.

    what do u guys think?

Two words....night classes....A lot of community college nursing schools offer them and they're great for people who need to work for income and pursue nursing degrees at the same time. Good luck pursuing your dreams : )

Hiya. If it's still 'haunting' you and this is what you really want then by all means go for it. Nursing haunted me from 20-50 years of age. I started nursing school at 50...so you can do it! Good luck in whatever you decide. Cheers

I am a believer that nurses make good teachers & teachers make good nurses.... If it is in your heart & soul go for it.....you may even be inspired to teaching nursing students someday......

It is never too late to follow your dreams. I say go for it. The only thing I would caution you about is to be sure that you really want to be a nurse and not a doctor. Nursing and Medicine do have some overlap, but they are completly different disciplines. Do your homework and then let your heart be your guide.

Good luck and Welcome to the forum
