I got my CNA in North Carolina, I remember getting a "license" from the state, but I can't remember how I got it. I remember the school saying we qualify after our first semester/quarter of nursing school. Check either with your school or the BON of nursing in NC.

    Good luck! Welcome to Allnurses!

    hi, gazelle!

you can get all kinds of information about becoming a cna on this forum on allnurses: http://allnurses.com/forums/f265/ - the cna - nursing assistant discussions forum. there is a thread there that has a link to your state nurse aid registry where you can get the information you need. or, you can post a question there to get help from other cnas.

you should also check out the other nursing student forums on allnurses. you can see a list of them here: http://allnurses.com/forums/f196/
