I took NCLEX RN today, I feel like I failed!!!

  1. I really feel like I failed the NCLEX-RN. I got 85 questions. I am just in tears. All of the questions and the answer choices were so vague I tried to elimate any that were totally wrong and then I started to panic and my heart was racing. This is my very first post, cause I need TLC and somebody to talk to that has gone though the same thing. I think all that hard work for nothing. I can't even concentrate on writting this. Thank you in advance

WELCOME to the BB! I know how stressful this time can be, but try to remain positive. Everyone walks out of the test feeling like they failed, so you are not alone. I really wish you the best! I'm sure you did better than you think!

Hey, I took the NCLEX today, also. Just remember that the NCLEX is a Computer Adaptive Test. That means that it finds the level where you get about 50% right, so you are going to get a lot of hard questions. The harder your questions, the higher your competency level and the more likely you are to pass. Hang in there. We will find out on Friday. Good Luck!!!!!

NCLEX is a hard, strange test. Most walkout feeling like they failed. All will be okay no matter which way it goes. You have gotten this far. Be good to yourself and give yourself a pat on the back for graduating & taking the test. Chances are you passed. Keep us posted!

Hang in there! I totally know how you feel. I took the test on Monday, walked out shell shocked, cried for two days, could not eat or sleep since then! Got my results one hour ago, and found out I passed :hatparty: I felt just like you do right now, even had a hard time putting my credit card number in before finding out. The waiting is pure torture, and I know you will not feel better until you find out that you passed. Try to keep your self busy for the next two days, and don't over think your answers, that will just drive you more crazy. I pray for you, try it your self, it really helps

What DC2RN said. You probably kind of know when you get a question wrong in your exams at school, and if your school is like ours, the minimum to pass is about 80%.
The NCLEX is geared for most students to get 50% right; that means getting 50% wrong, also and it is a very unnerving feeling compared to knowing that you got 80% or more correct on a test!

I understand how you are feeling, so much is riding on this one test. I start my job on July 19th, what do I do if I fail? I wish they would let us know the results much quicker!! I am in California so we can't access the quick results. Everyone (friends, family) are so sure I passed...but what if??? That just adds more pressure in a way, but I am glad they believe in me!! Anyway good luck and please let us know your results!! -Kim

First of all, welcome to the BB. If you read the Graduate Nurse forum, you will have support o' plenty from all stresses related to the NCLEX. Not that you couldn't get that support here, but that's where many threads relating to passing the NCLEX are located. Rest assured, you aren't the first person to stress about failing the NCLEX at 85 questions - nor will you be the last. You may want to hop over there to read more. Lots of people are there to lend support.

Good luck, and I'm sure you did fine. I know the wait is hard though.

hi guys! well i took the nclex on wednesday, and i think i blew it... i went to school in germany, and it has taken 2 years to cut through the red tape so i could take it, i've been working as a tech in the OR in the meantime... so it's been seven years since school and two since i last actively did nursing ( GI/ oncology )... the test stopped after 75 questions and i don't feel too well about it... if i did mess it up, i'd really like to do a review or something, i need to get a feel for the way things are done here... any suggestions? really appreciate it!!!
