I start Nursing School on Monday...

  1. That about sums up why I'm here. I start nursing school on Monday and I'm really excited but I have a ton of questions that didn't even occur to me until after the student panel finished at our nursing orientation.

Of course, this weekend might be the last weekend anyone hears from me for two years...

I'm a nursing student in a AAS program in San Antonio, TX. I'm looking forward to nursing school and I'm hoping by this time next year I'll be working as an extern and going to school. That might not be doable since I have a husband and family but that's my goal. We'll see, right?

Good luck to you. I start school Monday for my BSN. I am on computer, so I am very scared. I have been a nurse for 20+ years, and I know you can do it.

    Dear Future RN,
Just know you can do this. I have been teaching nursing for over 10 years. You can do this with a family, but you must learn time management skills right off. Budget time for study, family, and sleep. Don't skimp on any of them, but plan ahead. My best study tips: read the assigned material, take notes in class, and review these in your mind and with others. All these strategies help to assure that the material stays in your brain. Best wishes!
