Hope you all are staying warm!!

  1. Just a quick hello from western Canada. We finally got out of a cold front today
its only -2C this morning. Its been -25 to -30C on average with out the wind chill. Getting to work has been a challange as people seem to forget that with cold weather and snow is ice. I see so many people in the ditch everyday, it just amazes me how quickly they forget to drive with care. Its not like we don't get this weather every year around the same time with the same conditions.
Too top it off it lasts about 5 months every year. It would be different if is was unusual for us, but this is Alberta and we get it all.
I would also like to send a note to all the rescue worker helping with the devastating tital wave in the east. Edmonton has raised over 1 million dollars for the Redcross efforts. I hope you are all stay safe and healthly. May god keep you safe and out of harms way while you help others.
For the rest of the nurses here at home may you all have a good year and keep safe as well.

My DH got me a command start for Christmas. Heaven on earth is getting into a warm car after a 13 hour day in hell for my 30 minute drive home. Unfortunately it does nothing to keep me on the road, gotta take care of that part myself. Now if the weather would just pick a temperature and stay there... All this up and down is more than annoying!

Thanks but I shouldn't have said a word as I cursed myself, now the weekend is going to be back in the deep freeze -23C to -25C. Just being cold is not bad its when the wind picks up that makes it worse.
I can only hope the the spring gods smile upon us early.
I hope you have a great weekend.

I got my comand start two years ago and it has saved a lot of shivering. I do agree that if the temp would pick a degree, it would be so much better.
The up and down is so bad thats when our ER gets so busy with colds and other non emerg symtoms. The price we pay for being in a small town.
