Hi- I'm a newbie

  1. [FONT=Fixedsys]:chuckle Hi fellow nurses! I'm new to this forum- I'm excited again about nursing. I got accepted into the RN program and i start in January 2006. I dropped out of the RN program years ago, and didn't realize I was on the waiting list for another school. They sent me letters to see if I was interested, and I finally received a letter stating that I am selected for the January 2006 program. I am pretty anxious and scared to get this started- i dropped the program before because I had a boyfriend who was very jealous of my drive to succeed, and he gave me a very hard time. From then on, I tried to make up all the negatives about being a nurse just so I could frame myself to become uninterested (for my boyfriend's sake). But, all I knew was that i remember staying up late studying for the pre-requisites and making the grade, and to see it thrown all away would be a shame.
[FONT=Fixedsys]Well, my boyfriend became my husband, and I went into the Escrow industry. good money, but not rewarding wholeheartedly. One day, I received that letter from the school of nursing that I was accepted, and I was soooo happy, but I had to talk to my husband about it. I told him it was for our family and we would have better lives after I was finished, and most of all, I would be happier with myself. He didn't think twice. He was supportive, and was soooo happy and proud, he told his family and friends. I guess marrying him gave him the security (whatever!), but I do love him a lot....
[FONT=Fixedsys]Anyway, I'm excited to join 'All Nurses' so I can share my experiences and even personal problems if they do arise with my husband to people like you who are in the same boat as I am. glad to be in your forum!!!!

[FONT=Impact]Hi AGAIN! [FONT=Lucida Console]It has been quite a while since I posted anything! Well, when I joined I was a scared 1st semester student nurse...now I am a FRIGHTENED 3rd semester student nurse- but I have learned A LOT!!!! I don't understand the lectures until the semester AFTER! Am I a slow learner or what? I just got over my MidTerm on Acute care on CARDIOVASCULAR- whew!!! that was a critical- thinking-mind boggling subject- but I am proud to say I got an 87 (and a quarter) out of 100! I'm Proud- considering the fact that I REALLY had to sit and read and concentrate on detail! Thanks for being there for me, ALLNURSES.COM!!!! I'll be back!

Glad to meet you, I am new here too. Hope to talk to you sometimes.......Rhonda Oh yeah, I am really glad your husband is so supportive of you now. I have been a nurse for longer than I care to remember, and it is a very rewarding way of life. Once a nurse, always a nurse. I am not presently working because of moving to another state. But, I never forget I am a nurse. Lots of luck to you......Rhonda
