1. Hi! I'm new here and after getting married and having 2 children I have finally decided to go to college to get my nursing degree. I wanted to find out though if I should get my CNA license first so I can work in the field while getting my degree or not. I'm sure if that's the best plan...
Please let me know if y'all have any suggestions.

    Welcome to All Nurses!

There's certainly nothing wrong with working as a CNA while in school; you'll be generating an income in addition to getting valuable experience in the field. Be aware, though, that school is going to take a huge time investment; you may find yourself juggling family/home/work with your edication. Lots of people do it; only you can know what's right for you.

I wish you tons of luck and success in whatever you do!

Welcome. It's not a bad idea, that way you're a step ahead and you get comfortable with basic care. But you can also manage without it.

    Good luck.
