HelP!

  1. Hey Cant say I have written in a forum before. Not sure what to do. I am an LPN and have been for 13 years. I have recently become very frustrated in that the nursing board seems to be taking more and more away that I am able to do independently. I work in an ER and love my job. I am good at what I do and find it more and more humiliating, given I have been nursing longer than a lot of my co-workers. I am currently exploring my options to obtaining my associates (RN). Anyone have any good advice? To make things a little more complicated I got my LPN through a vocational school which means I still need all my pre-reqs, except for a few. I am an old lady (43) with a family and I have to work full time. Its near impossible to go to school the traditional way and get everything done bfore Im 80! I have also tried a couple of online courses for general credits and found them extremely hard. In the classroom your instructer will let you know what you need for exams. Online you dont know what they will be asking. There is no way to know everything. Any suggestions?

It would be nice if we knew which state you resided. Click here to look for an NLNAC-accredited nursing program near you. You'd be surprised at all of the LPN-to-RN programs that are out there.

Good luck with your future endeavors.
