Hello, what a GREAT resource.....

  1. Hi everyone,

I have 16 years in public service and have decided that nursing is going to be my second career (I draw a pension at 20). Once upon a time, when I was much, much younger, I was a firefighter/emt for 4 years in the USAF. I really liked the med type stuff but went on to a different job. Now, I am going to pursue that former interest. I know that emt type stuff doesn't really have a whole lot to do with nursing, but, I really enjoyed it. I also know that nursing is very stressful and challenging (both from within and without) but look forward to the change.

I prob won't post very much as I doubt I have a lot to contribute (yet), but, I will be reading everything so that I can learn as much as I can....

    thanks,
    Kel

I've found the more resources one has the better one can do h/her job.

Is Ft. Worth, TX, near Shepherd AFB?

Actually, Fort Worth has the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base(NAS JRB Fort Worth) here in town. Fort Worth is a city of 600,000 people located 30 miles west of Dallas.

    Okay....

I think I will be attending tech-school out that way (I joined a med unit in the USAFR and I think that's where my school is).
