Hello Nightingales- my name is Angela

  1. Hi my name is Angela. I am a LPN from southwest Virginia. I have been out of nursing for two years, helping my husband with his home based business & I decided to write a novel inspired by my nursing experiences. I have recently joined a local agency, but feel that I have missed alot by not working for two years. I am delighted that my novel has been published and I am ready to get back into the flow of nursing. I am considering writing a sequel and would appreciate any humorous events that would inspire me to keep writing.

    Hi Angela !

    And welcome to Allnurses !!!

I, too, am located in SW Va. ........ I live on the southside of Galax ,..walking distance to the BR Pkwy., and mere yards to the NC line from my house. Where are you?

Yes, do tell us the name of your novel... need another good nursing novel to read.. recently finished up all three of Echo Heron's books.

What area of nursing will you be doing per diem? Thinking I might look into that in the future, when I can no longer run, run, lift, push, lift, tote, shove, and bend, bend, bend... :chuckle ... as I do now at my current job in dialysis (which I DO love, by the way).

So trying to keep up with what's available out there when and if the time comes.

    Keep us posted !

Northern New England----my homestate was Massachusetts & I attended college in the burbs of Boston, but the long winters inspired me to move south..... My novel is called "Rocky Creek Manor" and is available through authorhouse (on line). It is a work of fiction inspired by my experiences, with an unpredictable yet inspirational twist. I believe there are not enough books written about the struggles of nursing.........

I am near the borders of Botetourt & Rockbridge counties. I have only lived in this beautiful region for 5 years, I left the harsh New England winters. I have been a nurse since 1991 & was a cna for 10 years prior to that, so nursing is all that I know. I worked triage in a medical center for many years and developed a bleeding ulcer, so I changed over to geriatrics & working in the long-term care facilities, where I experienced many heart touching events. My novel is fictional but inspired by my experiences & is available on-line through authorhouse ("Rocky Creek Manor"). I am excited, the press releases just went out. I think that writing is a great way to express yourself & it was therapy for me......

Kool ! Thanx for the info ! Will have to look for it.

I also left New England (beautiful, though it is, in it's own way as well) about 20 years ago (Connecticut) and moved down here to these lovely hills and mts. and friendly folk... and never looked back !
