Hello; I'm new...and pleased to meet you!

  1. Greetings to one and all;
I'm Brooke, originally from Connecticut, fell backside over gray matter
for a Barnet boy over the Net(yes, that is the truth!), moved to England,
recovered from ME, and decided to take a course in nursing (which probably
in retrospect is insanity because I WAS once a paramedic), and have been married for NINE years this August.

I'm currently recovering from the loss of my Mother, who died from MRSA/
post surgical complications of spinal decompression. Tomorrow will be three weeks.

But in the loss I have gained SO much!! I'm an optimist by nature, if not by
contrivance, a Gemini, for anyone interested in that sort of thing, and a musician. And, my DREAM is to work in West Virginia at Gesundheit Institute!!

I hope to meet you all someday, and forgive me if I don't immediately reply to all of the emails..for the moment, I'm suffering stress symptoms of the long-
vanquished ME. Blessings, and interesting journeys to all, Brooke, AKA Spiritus

    Hello there, Brooke !

Good to have you on board. Lived in Ct. myself for ten years, also 4 years in good ol' Merry England when I was a little'un, and right now I live just south of West Va. Beautiful country, for sure.

So don't be shy and consider yourself at home here.

    Welcome aboard!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I don't hang on the Net that much, for the moment, I'm trying to defrag my house; NEVER let a fourteen year old boy anywhere within
SPITTING distance of a pan to "DO" popcorn...at leat the house is in one piece
still, but stinks of burnt popcorn, although I fumigated it with Glade Magnolia and Vanilla; NOW it smells like I burnt COTTON CANDY!!! Sheesh.... So, tell me
    about Shamrock...I LOVED your smiley!!!

    Looking to hear more, Spiritus..

Hi Brooke, welcome to the hallowed halls of AllNurses, great to have you join us
Thank you, and G'day, Scrubs!! How's the weather out there?? I just got back from FL/USA and was delighted with the way I could see the sky at night(here we suffer from too much light pollution, methinks!)...the stars were awesome,
and my first words to my Dad after getting out of the car(I have taken the decision NOT to drive, which makes my husband crazy, but he respects the reason)were, "Hey, Dad, wouldja mind if I slept out HERE?"

You must be able to see the Southern Cross, how cool is THAT?

So, tell me about you, please? I deduce from your handle that you are
an ORN of some sort...circulation or scrub? Or, forgive me my ignorance,
but is there a DIFFERENCE? I NEVER really understood the ins and outs of Theatre....looking to hear from you soon, and thanks again for the great
welcome...I don't feel so newbie anymore...Spiritus... (Doing the mad Snoopy Dance)

Your endurance is very encouraging, if you don't mind my asking...how are you able to work while attending school? The reason I ask is because I have to work full time in the day to potentially study nursing at night so I am able to pay my rent and pay for schooling....

I am studying externally, so all my theory work is done at home online, allowing me to study whilst still performing my caring duties. I have someone come in to help out during my clinical hours, but it certainly makes for very long tiring days....and nights

    Dear CNM2B;
Thanks for the welcome and for the enthusiasm..I have been overwhelmed with the information and the open arm policy of this group of dedicated folks.

So..WHICH part of Connecticut did you visit, and WHAT did you LIKE about it?
Ten weeks is a LOONG time to be staying in that state, and I know, I LIVED there once upon a time...my Dad, thinking that the state was too expensive even to practice dentistry, looked elsewhere to set up practice...even too the test for Vermont, and New Hampshire, but in the end,we stayed....my Mom would not have coped well with new Hampshire, bless her.... although it would hav been really beautiful up there all year round, with the snow...

And WHERE in NYS do you reside?? I know a few bits of NYS, like Long Island,
specifically Southampton and Garden City. Friends live out there, and every once in awhile try to entice me back to the beach!! I have a friend who lives
in Albany, but for the moment, we haven't been speaking to each other....been a bit frantic with Mom dying and everything else, and I am waiting for a suitable time to write and explain and apologise...:imbar

Anyway, have a good day, and don't stop to smell the roses unless you have
had your allergy meds!!! God bless, Girl!! Always, Spiritus

I'm a moron. For some reason I was thinking Massachusettes when you were typing Connecticut. We stayed in Mass. for 10 weeks! OIY! MAJOR BRAIN FART there! LOL We are in Ny state, south of Buffalo by about an hour and a half in a town called Jamestown, home of Lucille Ball.
