Hi I am currently in my first semester for Registered Practical Nursing. Since the age of 14 I have wanted to be a Nurse, specifically I had an interest in OB. I have already been to College for a previous course after i was discouraged because people told me I had to much on my plate(I was a teenage mom). I did not like the course I took as an alternative and have let the years creep by me and just did not have that accomplished feeling. So I whent back to College and took a Pre-Health course and tried to get into Nursing after I graduated it took me 2 years to get into the course. I am now 27 I am a mother of 4 I have a fiancee who watches our youngest while i go to school. It is so hard I study for about 4 hours before my tests, which is what I am used to doing in my previous courses, but I am not doing as well as I am used to I currently have an average of 70, when generally I have an average of 80's or 90's. I am really scared for the math component because we have to get an 80 percent to advance to the next level. I am terrible at Math it's as if I will get it, but I forget all the rules when I go in for the test. I can't see myself doing anything else, so I have to pass. Maybe someone can give me some study advice, I really want this and after my course if all goes well I plan on bridging to the Bachelors program. I enjoy reading all the posts here and am glad I finally joined.

You might find some good pointers in the student section. Good luck in school.
