Hello from Australia!

  1. Hi! I'm a second-year nursing student - one year to go! I am from Australia, so I will use extra Us - like in colour, favourite, etc. I want to be a midwife and an ICU nurse and a nurse practitioner and.... I'll never get out of uni. I'm 22, so technically a "mature age" student. I love nursing. I wanted to do medicine originally, but got sick in year 12 and never applied, and I have to say that from my clinical experience, I am glad that I didn't. I think nursing is a far more caring profession and allows more time for patients and more involvement in their care and their lives.
I'm thrilled that there is a forum where nurses can meet and talk about nursing and nursing-related stuff. I love the chats I have with some of my fellow student nurses, and I love the way the nurses I have met support each other professionally and personally. It's such a great career!
Nice to meet you all, I hope to chat with you more as we go along.
