- 0Jan 15, '13 by xofeliciaHi! I am new to this site and am looking for helpful/useful information and advice as I go on this journey into becoming a nurse. I am 24 and have been married since I was 18 I am finally deciding to go to school and do something with my life. My goal is become a labor & delivery/new life unit nurse. I witnessed the birth of my best friends son 2 years ago and all I could think was how beautiful it was to see new life brought into this world. So that's a little about me. I'm looking forward to connecting with people that also have the same goals in mind.

The very best to you as you start your journey toward becoming a nurse! I felt very blessed as the first birth I witnessed was just about perfect as well. Even after all these years I still remember it.

You'll find lots of people in your situation in the Nursing Student forums which includes Pre-Nursing Student. Even people who are already nurses starting a new job or a new specialty or getting another degree feel nervous about it.Thanks! I'm really nervous and questioning whether or not I can do this! Is this normal?
