I've actually been registered but "browsing" these forums for a couple months now so I'd thought I'd actually post an intro/bio since I'm starting to become a bit more active here.
Name is barcode120x, currently 22 years old, and just got into the nursing program at Mt. San Antonio College for Spring 2013 after waiting 2 full years (thank goodness haha). I already have my AA, I was just waiting to get into the program while taking transferable classes as well as fun/interesting classes during my 2 year wait.
I've been working as a tutor for the DSPS (Disabled Students Programs and Services) at my college tutoring disabled students (physically or mentally) in whatever courses they needed help with. I mainly tutored in math and English but I occasionally did psychology and chemistry. I've been working there for a little over a year now, but it's sad to say that I will be quitting once I start the nursing program as I need to focus on that more.
I also work at San Antonio Community Hospital (SACH) in Upland on the weekends as a Lift Assist Team (LAST or mobility technician as it is called in other places). I work graveyards with a partner and go around the whole hospital (ICU, CCU, DOU, etc) re-positioning patients and helping with bed/chair transfer and anything else the nurses/CNAs need help with. We actually work under the physical therapy department, but NOT with the physical therapists, which is kind of weird haha. Well the PTs do have PT assistants as well as PT aides to help them out so we help out the nurses and the CNAs. You can kind of think of us as your back
