G'Day....Newbie here

  1. G'day. Just introducing myself. I'm a lady who decided to change my career after 20 years in Admin. I completed my Enrolled Nursing last year and am now employed in an Aged Care facility working with Dementia specific residents and loving every minute of it.

I have the opportunity to continue on to Registered Nursing but am worried about the work load....Assignments...arrrrgggghhhhh. I honestly don't know if I can commit to another 3 years of Uni.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to browsing the forums and picking up tips and odd bit of information.

    Hi Hi Hi!
I'm a newbie too! I'm a student Division Two (Enrolled) Nurse... I can't wait to be a real nurse... I hate school. I wish I could train in a hospital like the olden days... sigh
I work in Aged Care at the moment, in a Dementia specific hostel, and I love my residents. They're great, they're actually fun to be with (most of the time), and they have incredible stories to tell!
I won't stay in aged care forever. I know there is a whole world of nursing out there... and that i have a lot to learn, but I'm excited!
I look forward to learning a lot from all the worldly wisdom that I expect to find on this forum.

Don't worry about the work load in moving on to become an RN.
If your heart is leaning you that way DO IT.

Welcome to allnurses and hope you enjoy the site. Don't worry about the work load to become an RN. You can do it in little bites if you want to. There are many of a "more mature" nature that are students and post on these forums. Good luck to you and hope to see your thoughts on nursing issues.
