Hello! My name is Amber. I am a nursing student, currently working on a BSN with plans of continuing on to a MSN. I have been a Certified Medical Assistant for 13 years which has caused me to develop an extensive amount of clinical patient care experience. When I decided to go back to school to be a nurse, which I should have done 10 years ago, I started working on a hospital floor because I wanted to gain the hospital patient care experience. I just started a new job as an ED Tech which I am excited, and scared to death, about the experience and growth it is going to bring. After only 2 weeks in the ED, I think emergency medicine might be where I want to be. It seems exciting and intense all at the same time which excites and scares me, but I want to be like a sponge and soak up all I can.
I decided to join this community after searching Google for tips for first time ER Techs. I found an excellent post on here with lots of great advice from nurses. I knew that I needed to register because this will serve as another avenue for me to grow from the experience of others in the field that I love.
I look forward to reading the different posts, articles, and advice given. I also hope to connect with some experienced nurses I can learn from as I grow in my nursing career. Thank you!
