I feel like I know some of you already. I discovered this site and put it on my homepage several months ago, and whenever I have the chance I browse through the posts. I'm doing my prereqs for the ADN program and I have learned so much from this site. Thanks for being so candid and helpful for those of us who are just getting started!!
I've always thought about being a nurse, but life doesn't always cooperate. I've been working at home as a medical transcriptionist for the past three years and decided this was the perfect time to follow my dream and go back to school. So here I am, starting a whole new chapter in my life. I have one grown daughter and two teens at home, one of whom would like to be a nurse too. I'm really excited about becoming a nurse, I can't think of a more rewarding profession. I think I would like working in the ER, but I'd like to try all the departments first.
I look forward to reading lots more about what it's like being a nurse and the best route to getting there!
