Excited to be here!

  1. Hello! I've been a lurker for a while now and thought that it was time to post and introduce myself, as well as share some exciting news.

I am 19 years old and I have been interested in medicine for as long as I can remember. For a while, I gave up on my dream of pursuing a career in medicine, due to becoming overwhelmed by an anxiety disorder my Junior year of high school (I was really pushing myself in the math/science classes, and started having panic attacks and such). I felt like I couldn't do it and sort of lost aim of what I wanted to do in life.

I met my husband when I was 17 and fell in love! He really helped me grow and strengthen myself to overcome my anxiety and realize my true self-confidence. Without him, I wouldn't be where I am today. I am much more strong, experienced, and self-determined and able to realize my goals. Nursing (and medicine) is tough and challenging, but I know I can do it.

Anyway, tomorrow I go interview at a college to see about enrolling for fall semester! I'm so excited that I'll be one step closer to my dream of nursing. I know it'll be tough for many reasons, but I know in my heart I will prevail. I'm so glad I found this site to share in everyone's story and maybe to share my journey too.

    Thank you,
    December.

Good luck with your interview, but I must warn you: Nursing school may not be as lengthy as Medical school, but it is extremely stressful. Good luck.
