I am in the midst of deciding whether or not to go into the nursing program next fall. I admire the nurses I have known, but truthfully do not have a clear "big picture" view of the profession. Can anyone help me by giving me the best and worst aspects (in your opinion) of the profession? Or help me to decide whether to go into this or not? I don't want the canned responses, but something real, you know? I want to help people. My mother is going on a medical mission this year and asked me to go because of my background as a pharmacy tech. I just keep thinking about all the good I could do if I had more experience, but is nursing the answer?
