My name is Kevin and I am a freshman in college majoring in the nursing program.
I'm extremely determined to become a nurse and work in a hospital in 4 years.
For those of you who are living the reality in which I wish to be one day, how is it? Do you love your job? Hate it? Benefits? Hours? Let me know! I'm anxious to know anything
Print and share with friends and family.
Compliments of allnurses.com.

I asked (being silly) today if it would be weird that I skipped my way through work... It's not all terrifying. I certainly have days where I feel frazzled like I'll never get everything done, but that's just telling me I have room to grow. Welcome, and best luck!!!! It' s a journey to enjoy, and remember!!!
(BTW... I'm fully convinced that nursing school is not intended to teach you everything you need to know. Not by a long shot. It's intended to keep you from killing someone the first 6 months out.... ;-) Never think you know it all. You won't. Ever. No one can.)kwmorrow7692 likes this. - kwmorrow7692 likes this.

- Oct 16, '11 by EponaHi and welcome!! Best advice I can give... get LOTS of clinical experience ahead of time IF you can... AND be sure and have a THICK skin. I have met some very nice and caring nurses, but MANY of them are not that way. Someone told me once that nurses "eat their young." That is very true. Good luck and hang tough!kwmorrow7692 likes this.

Haha that's so strange that some nurses aren't caring and nice.
Do you or does anyone else know a part-time job I could get for my first two years of college that would increase my chances of getting into nursing school or give me experience for my future job? Maybe like working in a hospital part-time as something? I work at a bookstore now and it's incredibly boring; the only thing keeping me there is the money. - Oct 16, '11 by cheesecakesquaredQuote from kwmorrow7692Get your CNA (certified nursing assistant) license. You have to get it at a community college or like the American Red Cross. It may cost a few hundred-few thousand dollars, but you can easily make that back if you work while going to pre-nursing school. Trying to get a job without certification is difficult at best :/. You can also make sure that this is the career path that you want to go into.I am way too caring, everyone always tells me I care about people too much so I think this job fits me

i want to start my schooling for lpn in january. i am trying to balance school, work, and marriage. no kids. my present job is able to work with me schedule wise.
is there work for newbie’s lpn graduates?? how can i get hired if no one will give me work? does the school help with finding work?
