Back in the saddle

  1. Hello everyone! I was actually accepted to nursing school in 2001 and because of financial difficulties and family issues I had to move away from that school and withdraw. Since then, I finished my schooling in Business and graduated with my Bachelor's degree in May 2005. However, I am not happy and truly do want to finish my Nursing Degree (BSN). The problem is I read on a website that a lot of colleges will not accept your science pre-req's after 5 years. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? If so I would have to repeat all my anat/phys & micro-bio, etc.

I really want to go back full-time in Fall of 07 even though it is going to be difficult financially but I am so motivated and want this so bad that I am willing to make many sacrifices so that it will be possible. Anyway I am enjoying reading the posts on this website it is great to hear so many different perspectives about the nurse profession.

By the way I am located in Nashville and welcome any local comments about MTSU, TSU, etc.

THANKS! And glad to be a part of this!

Good luck to you. I think it various from school to school. I've heard the five-year rule before, but not everywhere. Just ask the schools themselves because it's not a universal practice. Good luck to you!
