    Hi!
I'm gladI found this site. I am looking forward to getting some good advice and friendly chats about the frustrations and pitfalls of nursing school.

I am just entering my second semester of prereq's I made it through A&P Yeah!! And I am going to be taking Micro this Fall.

I have a question for anyone who has taken the DET test I need to take it by the end of this month (Aug.) and I would like to know if anybody out there has any study guides they used and what they are. I really suck at math and thats what scares me the most .

I hope to get through the DET and apply to the nursing program in Sept.

    Thanks!
    hanging in there!!

    Hi

Just wanted to post a quick introduction. I have actually lurked here for a while and thought it was time to dive in. I am a new graduate from an ADN program and am currently in a fellowship program at a level one trauma ED. I love ED but am totally overwhelmed at my lack of clinical skills and experience. My favorite fantasy is one in which I am an experienced and competent ED nurse but I guess I have a lot of hard work to get through to get there I am also getting used to being back at work after being at home with my kids for quite a few years. I know they are handling it better than me!!! I love this site and have gained many pearls of wisdom here. Looking forward to being one of you :hatparty:

    Hi there!
This is my first visit to this site and this is the first thread i have read. I was wondering why i could so relate to you....and there it was....the all too familiar AA! Amazing program isn't it? You just never know when you will meet a new friend!
My name is Shannon and I am 35 years old, entering the LPN program here in the Spring.
Just out of curiosity, did you pursue your LPN prior to becoming and RN? I have heard the +/- from some students, but I would like to hear from a practicing RN.
I look forward to hearing from you, sounds like we have tons of things in common!
In the Fellowship of the Spirit,

    Shannon J.

    Hey, welcome to the site!

I really feel bad when I see all the threads from new people introducing themselves. There's just NO WAY that I could stop and post to each and every one of you!

So I just wanted to say hey, how are you, and I hope you have a good experience!

I'm 46, an RN trained in a diploma school in Maine (1981). I've done all kinds of nursing, my favorite being geriatrics, with Chemical Dependency a close second.

I currently live in Maine, have a 17 year old son (who is just beginning driver ed, ugh!). I'm a Born Again Christian (3 years) but have to say that I am not one of those thumpers, LOL! How that happened is a long strange trip, I started out Catholic, tried all kinds of religion, no religion, etc. Then I ended up in AA (1985). I learned so much about tolerance, and the fact that God works miracles in EVERYONE's life, not just the "special" (wink) people.

So along with being sober I've also had to deal with my mental health issues, depression/bipolar, anxiety, oh fun fun...

SO - feel free to say hi, in this thread or through a private note! Happy you are here, lots of wonderful people! God bless! :hatparty:

Feel free to post on this thread, and if I see you "around" I will say hello!

I'm Rana, another Aussie who has found this site today. I am supposed to be doing a 2000 wd Lit Reveiw but of course I am procrastinating I am a 30yr old mum to 3 cherubs I live in the Gold Coast Australia, I am currently working as a RN in a 30 bed medical ward and am back at school doing my masters of midwifery. This looks like a fun place to chat (like I need anything else to distract me lol).
