Hi, my name is Erica, I've been a LPN for 8 years. I am going to try to go back to get my RN as soon as time and finances permit. I've been doing some prerequis each semester. I have 3 boys ages 6, 4, and 20 months. I am currently working in pediatric home health. My primary pt. is actually the cause for me to join this group. He is almost 6 yrs. old, and has some form of MD, but has remained undiagnosed as his symptoms do not fully fit the criteria of any specific forrm. I know that there has to be another family somewhere who has similiar symptoms, and by golly I'm going to find them.

    Hey, welcome to the site!

I really feel bad when I see all the threads from new people introducing themselves. There's just NO WAY that I could stop and post to each and every one of you!

So I just wanted to say hey, how are you, and I hope you have a good experience!

I'm 46, an RN trained in a diploma school in Maine (1981). I've done all kinds of nursing, my favorite being geriatrics, with Chemical Dependency a close second.

I currently live in Maine, have a 17 year old son (who is just beginning driver ed, ugh!). I'm a Born Again Christian (3 years) but have to say that I am not one of those thumpers, LOL! How that happened is a long strange trip, I started out Catholic, tried all kinds of religion, no religion, etc. Then I ended up in AA (1985). I learned so much about tolerance, and the fact that God works miracles in EVERYONE's life, not just the "special" (wink) people.

So along with being sober I've also had to deal with my mental health issues, depression/bipolar, anxiety, oh fun fun...

SO - feel free to say hi, in this thread or through a private note! Happy you are here, lots of wonderful people! God bless! :hatparty:

Feel free to post on this thread, and if I see you "around" I will say hello!

Hi - My name is I'm new - I'm a nursing student - graduating in 2008 happy summer everyone!

Hi there... I am new to this site... I figured I would give it a shot since it seems to be a hot spot for info. I have 41 days left of the LPN program here in Western Mass. It is great to see a light at the end of the tunnel. I joined hopign to be able to get some info about 1 year LPN to RN programs on the east coast... is there anyone out there who has gone to one or would recommend one??? Any information would be great...

Try this for LPN pages, there are a few threads by LPN's regarding RN programs.

    http://allnurses.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=99

Also, try nursing discussion by location, find the area where you want to work/go to school, and proceed from there.

One of those two places would welcome a thread requesting the info if you don't find what you need!

    Take care and good luck!

    Hi,

I'm Dee. I am embarking on my senior year of nursing school. I am a non-tradtional student attempting to complete my BSN after a 10 year educational hiatus. Being in nursing school has taught me alot about myself and the nature of human beings. I love people, even though I don't always understand their motives. Nursing is the best decision that I have made in my life so far. It allows me to use every aspect of my compassion. I have laughed, I have cried...I love it and it is my passion.

I have two kids, and a wonderful fiance. Being a non-tradtional student has had its challenges, but I am determined to complete my program with pride. Maternity nursing is what brought me to nursing school, but ICU/Emergency nursing is my current area of interest. I imagine at some point I will be a nursing instructor because I have a desire to share all that I have learned.
