Jan 2, '06educational piece here for new folks.
what is terms of service (tos) and why is it important?
the terms of service (or tos) are the board's governing guidelines to ensure good membership.these guidelines ensure that all posters are welcome and free from flaming/soliciting posts. we want all posters to have a productive and enjoyable environment. debates are welcome...but, debate also needs to be respectful. the guidelines ensure this. the link for this is also at the bottom of each page.
we as moderators are there for you and to ensure that the tos guidelines are followed. if you notice, each forum has at least one moderator. the assigned moderators are listed at the top right of each forum page. feel free to contact the moderator if you have a concern that you are unsure of. if you need to report a bad post or a post that is outside the terms of service, you can report it by clicking the icon...which is found to the left of every post. moderators will follow up on it once reported.
to become more familiar with our tos...the link is here:terms of service?
Jan 3, '06thanks for the reply. This seems like an active forum. I think I am going to like this site. I love travel nursing and am looking forward to California. But I am wondering about the fact that it is a union state. Do they welcome non union nurses? I have never had any experience with unions. Does any one have any suggestions. All I want to do is spend the summer in California near the coast. Thanks

So I just wanted to say hey, how are you, and I hope you have a good experience!
I'm 46, an RN trained in a diploma school in Maine (1981). I've done all kinds of nursing, my favorite being geriatrics, with Chemical Dependency a close second.
I currently live in Maine, have a 17 year old son (who is just beginning driver ed, ugh!). I'm a Born Again Christian (3 years) but have to say that I am not one of those thumpers, LOL! How that happened is a long strange trip, I started out Catholic, tried all kinds of religion, no religion, etc. Then I ended up in AA (1985). I learned so much about tolerance, and the fact that God works miracles in EVERYONE's life, not just the "special" (wink) people.
So along with being sober I've also had to deal with my mental health issues, depression/bipolar, anxiety, oh fun fun...
SO - feel free to say hi, in this thread or through a private note! Happy you are here, lots of wonderful people! God bless! :hatparty:
Feel free to post on this thread, and if I see you "around" I will say hello!
*** edit, additional comment - If you leave a comment on this thread and no one answers you, please send me a private message and let me know. Sometimes the notification of a new post does not get sent to me - and I hate making people wait for a response! Thank you!
