:uhoh21:This is how I feel after eating too much last night and beingup with my husband with the stomach flu in the wee hours (good practice!). Well, I have climbed out on a limb and am preparing to start nursing school next year, at 38 years old. NOt only that - as I have lived in Switzerland for the last 16 years - I will be studying in French. I would love to hear from other students just starting out!
I look forward to reading the posts and becoming part of this amazing community as well as sharing my experience once I start studying. THANKS to you all for being there as examples!
    best, Erin

Oh my goodness Erin! I'm excited for you! That is a lot to take on - but so worth it I bet! Congratulations!

Here is the nursing student forum but try out the international nursing discussions as well. Good luck to you!

Hello, everyone. Am definitely new here. Just found the site after being a LPN, ADN, BSN, and working on my next to last semester in my Masters program. Am an American Indian RN from Oklahoma with 2 daughters, 1 son, 2 grandpups, and 2 grandsons. Am currently tring to relearn OB in a small community hospital. Am looking for some good resume hints for a nursing career change. Am excited about this site as I feel isolated in my pursuits of higher education. My nursing colleagues are ADNs and are happy at that level and believe I have lost my mind. I think that I agree with them at times too. Am working on the last 3 weeks of the semester and just can't get motivated. I feel that I have hit the wall...any suggestions. Also, have been very ill this semester and have only worked 3 days this month. Slightly overwhelmed. Help.

    Greetings from Melbourne in Australia.

This is my first posting on AllNurses.

I am working in a Coronary Care Unit in a government (public) hospital about 12 km from the centre of the city, i.e. in the north eastern suburbs.

Hoping to have useful discussions with nurses from around the world.

I'm new here. I'm from Indiana. I'm 24. I've been a nurse for 10 months now. I work on a cardiac telemetry unit and would like in the future to move to a more critical care unit like CCU.

    Hi CTU nurse!

I was working ICU when I was a nurse for 6 months! It just worked out that way and it was PERFECT for me at the time!

I've been a member since July 2002 but have never posted. Now that I've taken on a new challenge in my career, I feel I'm going to need some sage advice from those who have gone down the path I'm about to embark upon. Recently I've been hired as Nurse Manager for PACU with 28 FTE's (35 staff). I'll enjoy any advice and feedback on different issues as they arise. I've participated in different forums in the past and I really appreciate the input you receive. Thanks!!!
