    Hello Everyone:
I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. My name is Heather and I will be entering an RN program next fall. Right now I am stuck on doing my school work, so unfortunately, I won't be posting very often. I am engaged in A&P II right now. (Blaaaacchh). But, it has been really interesting so far and it is the basis for all my studies. Good luck to all of you and I do hope I will be able to visit half-way regularly (LOL)! God Bless each of you.

    Hey everyone!

I am not really new here, been a member for a few months. I have never posted anything.

I am an inpatient rehab nurse at a University teaching hospital here in GA. I have been a RN for almost 13 years. I have done a little bit of all kinds of nursing. I have worked in the hospital, in home hospice, rehab, nursing homes and even management.

I am married and have 8 children (actually, 1 husband, 2 real children, 2 cats and 3 dogs.)

I have really enjoyed the site and the newsletters. Welcome to any and all of the new members.

hi everyone...i'm new to the site and i've found alot of it really interesting and informative.

i am now finishing my last 2 prereqs and still have no idea where i'll be taking my nursing classes. i'm considering Beth Israel because i'm 47 yrs. old and i'm getting the destinct impression that every one of the non-private schools are extremely proficient at getting you to take their specific prereq. requirements, then turning the majority of students away when it comes time to enter the nursing program and i'm sick of it.

one day i'll start a thread on my experiences with BMCC and my suspicions that all of the community colleges are running the same suspected "scam" but i'll save it for another time.

Hello everyone, I am new here and I already feel like a part of the family.

I've been an LPN for 2 1/2 years now in a subacute/rehab center. I'm currently in school now for my RN. Should be done in May 06. I'm enrolled in Excelsior college in NY. I'm married and have one son who is 11 years old.
After looking around this site it appears that I will find some much needed advice on nursing school as I transition from LPN to RN.
Thank you for making me feel welcome!!

    Hi guys

I'm new to the board and is in desperately need of some guidance. I've always had an interest in Pediatric Nursing. I want to become a LPN. I would really love to start in January. Here's my hitch, I am new to GA and even with the computer I am having a hard time finding a college to start my courses. I can't tell which would suit my needs best. Can someone PLEEAASSEE point me to the right direction?
    Thanks

Yeah, 8 children, that fits! Although that means my mother had 12! EEK!

Hmm, never thought of it. I understood there to be too few openings in the nursing programs in general (which is HIDEOUS considering how much nurses are needed!)

Good luck to you! Hope you get in regardless!

Wendy, good to hear from you!

You know what I just realized? I was about your son's age when my mom returned to college (she had partially finished a degree). I will tell you it made a HUGE impact on me as a kid to see my mother go to school and succeed so much!

Congratulations and good luck with your RN!

I think you want the Georgia state nurses forum. This has a list of threads to choose from, or you can start one of your own.

Doesn't that stink that it's so hard to find things sometimes? Anyway, good luck and COME BACK if you don't get the help you need, k?
