Hi everyone! I just wanted to say hi and, more importantly, THANK YOU all for contributing to this fantastic support network for nurses and nurse-hopefuls! As for me, I would fall under that second category, as I'm about to start a BSN program in January for students with a previous Bachelor's degree. Although I'm only 22, it has been a long, at times painful, and overall unexpected road to get to the point where I'm at right now. I'm coming off of some hard times personally, and I'm ready to turn over a new leaf and dedicate myself to helping and caring for people as a nurse. I'll share more of my story as time goes on, but right now I just wanted to put myself out there and let you all know how grateful I am that we're all in this together!
All the best,
PS- If any of you were wondering where my screen name comes from, it's from one of my favorite poems by the brilliant artist Tupac Shakur...
Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's laws wrong, it learned to walk without having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else even cared!
