I have been spending a lot of time on this site just scoping out what people have to say about nursing. I really like this site-it is an awesome resource.
I am 29 yrs old and am starting the LPN program at Daytona Beach CC on Tuesday! I am very excited but very nervous at the same time. I will also be taking A&P online in all of my "free time". I am up for the challenge and really more excited than anything.
I moved to FL from MN about 2 yrs ago. I love Florida and would not change anything now. When I graduated from High School I wanted to do something dealing with foster children and the mentally ill children population. I then changed and decided I was going to go into social work. I began mentoring at risk youth and dealing with social services and realized I could not deal with that kind of politics. I then help a friend who was in foster care and was being abused and thought about being a lawyer until I found out in the beginning I would have to defend criminals. I knew this was not for me. So I have come to the conclusion that I need to make a decision and I love medicine, healthcare, and helping people. Nursing seems to be a great decision. I am starting out with LPN and then plan on doing the bridge program. I have a 5 year old who is very excited about me going back to school and I am thrilled to be starting.
